Nationals 2B Anderson Hernandez headed to DL
VIERA, Fla. (AP) - Washington Nationals second baseman Anderson Hernandez will start the season on the 15-day disabled list.

Hernandez has an injured left hamstring. He was hurt running out a grounder during an exhibition game.

The Nationals said Wednesday that the move will be retroactive to March 27.

Hernandez hit .333 with 17 RBIs in 81 at-bats with the Nationals last season after being acquired in August from the New York Mets for reliever Luis Ayala.

Ronnie Belliard is expected to begin the season as Washington's starter at second base.
