Nationals, lefty Perez agree to minor league deal
WASHINGTON (AP) - Odalis Perez and the Washington Nationals agreed to a non-guaranteed minor league contract Thursday.

The left-hander went 7-12 with a 4.34 ERA for Washington in 2008, throwing 159 2-3 innings over 30 starts. He would get $850,000 if he makes the major league club this season.

Perez joined the Nationals last year during spring training on a minor league deal and wound up as the team's starter on opening day.

The 31-year-old Perez is 73-82 with a 4.46 ERA in 10 major league seasons with four clubs.
