Washington Nationals Roster Report 2009-05-13
--OF Lastings Milledge will have surgery Wednesday to repair a broken right ring finger and will miss six to eight weeks. Milledge, who hurt himself trying to bunt Monday with Class AAA Syracuse, was examined in Baltimore by a hand specialist, who determined he needs to have a pin placed in his finger. Though the injury is a setback to Milledge's chances of returning to the majors this season, manager Manny Acta said the 24-year-old remains an important part of the organization's future.

--C Jesus Flores was out of the lineup Tuesday for the third straight game, still bothered by a bruised right shoulder. Flores said he probably felt well enough to play, but manager Manny Acta wanted to give him another day to make sure the shoulder is fully healed. Flores should be back behind the plate Wednesday against the Giants.

--OF Elijah Dukes was a late scratch from the Nationals' lineup after reporting to AT&T Park feeling ill. OF Willie Harris started in Dukes' place in center field.
